2008 Annual MeetingAfter worship on Sunday, January 27, NHCC held a potluck lunch followed by our annual congregational meeting. This year the meeting was again held in our Great Hall (also known as Parish Hall). Much business is transacted at these meetings, including adopting the year's budget and electing officers. We also remember our friends and members who have died in the past year and recognize our "angels" who have contributed to the church in outstanding ways. And we have a lot of fun. The pictures below give a sample of the day's activities. All official reports and the budget are in writing; contact the church office if you need a copy. The pastor's annual report is also available by clicking here.

As always, there was plenty of food. |
Perhaps too many choices for some people?
The meal has plenty of conversation as well as food. |
Treasurer Jim Harper has a final look at the books while enjoying dessert. |
Moderator Hope Wallace Hill led the business portion of the meeting. |
Senior Pastor Ken Baily gave his annual report on the spiritual health of the congregation.(Click here to read the written report.) |
Every annual meeting includes recognition of those who have been born and those who have died in the past year. Here we sing For All the Saints in memory. |
The children of the church met prior to the adults. Associate Pastor Gretchen Elmendorf presented their assessment and recommendations to the congregation. "More cookies at coffee hour" was a popular idea, but there were also suggestions for our priorities in activities and spending as you can tell if you look closely at the paper. |
Having already had their meeting, children were not obliged to attend the business session. Child care was provided as usual. Here the children enjoy tossing balloons while one of the adults gets ready to start a video. |
Other committee reports were given as well. Here Gretchen Hamilton gives the oral portion of the report for Christian Education while members study the written report. |
This year's first angel was Marianne Talis, who has been active in NHCC's Mission Committee in so many ways. |
Our second angel was Randy Ellis, who has been active in so many ways it's hard to list them all. He led last year's Stewardship campaign and organized several community events. |
